How do you collect the DNA sample?

Follow these steps to ensure a viable sample is reached by our laboratory:

  1. Avoid eating or smoking for at least 30 minutes before testing.
  2. Scrub the inside of the cheek firmly with the sterile swab for 30 seconds. This collects cheek cells, not just saliva.
  3. Place the swabs directly into the paper envelope. Do not put them back in the plastic packaging, as this can cause mould growth.
  4. Seal the envelope immediately and label it clearly with the participant’s details.
  5. Complete the consent form in full. We cannot process samples without a signed signature.
