Paternity testing often carries a weight of clinical uncertainty. At Brashan DNA Services, we prioritize scientific precision and absolute transparency to resolve these doubts. Below are the most frequent technical inquiries processed by our laboratory.
How accurate is the probability of paternity?
Our laboratory analyzes specific genetic markers to determine biological relationships with definitive accuracy. A result of 0% indicates the alleged father is excluded as the biological parent. A result of 99.9% or higher confirms paternity for all legal and personal purposes. We do not issue "100%" results because the conclusion is a statistical probability derived from comparing the DNA profile against the general population.
What is the difference between at-home and legal testing?
The laboratory science remains identical. However, an at-home DNA paternity test kit is intended for "peace of mind" only. If you require results for court proceedings, child maintenance, or immigration, you must select a legal DNA testing kit. This process follows a strict chain of custody, requiring an independent professional to verify identities and oversee the collection.

Can paternity be established during pregnancy?
Yes. We offer Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) testing. This procedure requires a maternal blood sample and a buccal swab from the alleged father. This can be performed as early as the 7th week of pregnancy with zero risk to the fetus. Order the kit today to obtain answers before the birth.
How do I collect the samples?
Follow these instructions precisely: Use the sterile swabs provided in the kit. Rub the swab firmly against the inside of the cheek for 30 seconds to collect epithelial cells. Place the swab directly into the collection envelope. If a standard swab cannot be obtained, we can perform viability studies on alternative samples such as used toothbrushes or hair follicles.
How do I receive my results?
Send the samples to our laboratory immediately after collection. We typically provide the finalized report within 3 to 5 working days. Access your secure report through your online account. We maintain strict confidentiality; results are only released to the authorized applicant.
