Who is your unknown father? Find out with a DNA test!

You can learn more about your ancestry, and health risks, and even find out who your biological father is, with a simple swab of the inside of your cheek. But it can be difficult to know which one is best for finding an unknown father, with so many different types of tests available. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the different types of DNA tests available for finding an unknown father.

Who is your unknown father? Types of DNA Tests Available

The most common type is an autosomal DNA test, which looks at all 22 pairs of chromosomes in your body and can be used to determine ancestry as well as identify potential relatives. Consequently, autosomal tests are typically used for genealogical purposes and are not ideal for finding an unknown father.

The next type of test is a Y-chromosome test or Y-DNA test. This type of test looks at the Y-chromosome that men inherit from their fathers only. It’s useful for tracing paternal lineages and can be used to identify potential fathers or confirm paternity when a man’s identity is known.

Finally, a mitochondrial DNA test looks at the mitochondria in cells that are passed down from mother to child only. Accordingly, this type of test can be used to trace maternal lineages but cannot be used to identify potential fathers or confirm paternity since it does not look at any paternal markers.

Conclusion

In summary, there are several different types of DNA tests available to find an unknown father.
